Session Outline:
This webinar will be facilitated by Dr Kirsty Wild, a local environmental sociologist who has experience taking on many complex issues, along with leadership consultant Patrick Rooney and former 4-term councillor Pippa Coom. The webinar features a Q&A with special guest Hon Phil Goff who has extensive central and local government experience who will share his experience authentically communicating complex environmental, social, and economic issues into relatable, inspiring messages that truly connect.

Dr Kirsty Wild
Dr Kirsty Wild is an environmental sociologist and public health researcher based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She studies the ‘people’ aspects of environmental challenges and environmental joys. She is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Population Health, University of Auckland; and has also worked as a consultant for community organisations, local and central government, and the World Health Organization on a range of projects related to transport; healthy neighbourhoods; sustainable food systems; pandemic resilience; and climate change.
Phil Goff
Phil Goff is a former Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister and Leader of the Labour Party. He served in Parliament for over 32 years and in Cabinet for 15 years covering many portfolios including Foreign Affairs, Trade, Defence, Justice, Education, Housing, and the Environment. He was then elected Mayor of Auckland where he served two terms. His last role was as NZ High Commissioner to the UK.
